Fr. Vasken Kouzouian States …
“It is my pleasure to introduce Alison Ekizian to our parish and greater community as Holy Trinity’s new Executive Director. Alison’s endearing personality, spirit, and enthusiasm engaged me the moment I met her, and I believe our parishioners will very quickly welcome her into our community. Alison brings with her a diverse arsenal of knowledge and experience from the business and marketing world that will help drive the work of our parish forward in the years ahead. Alison fills the responsibilities of Nancy Kasarjian, our former Executive Director, who retired at the end of 2018. Nancy has made herself available during a transition period for which we are all very grateful.
A Parish Council sub-committee spent months working with me on refining and fine-tuning the Executive Director’s position, and after praying for the perfect fit for our church office and parish, Alison Ekizian answered our prayer. She, and her husband Ty, and their young daughter Eve, are a pleasure to know, and I look forward to working with Alison in the years ahead. Please read about our new Executive Director below.”
Alison is a Passionate People Person
Alison’s 20-year career has focused in the areas of organizational change management, organizational development, and business and IT transformation. She left KPMG LLPs People and Change Practice in 2016 to raise her 3-year-old daughter, Eve Arakel. Before working in management consulting at KPMG, Alison was the Director of Change Strategy for Informational Technology (IT) at Gap Inc. HQ in San Francisco. Prior to working at Gap Inc., Alison held roles focused in business transformation and change management at NASA and Accenture.
Alison is a native of California and made her home in California’s San Francisco Bay Area before marrying her husband, Ty Edwards, and moving to Boston in 2014. During her teen and college years, Alison was a camper, then a counselor at the Western Diocese Summer Camp. Alison was an active member at St. John Armenian Church in San Francisco (where she and Ty were married) and a leader in AGBU’s Young Professionals of Northern CA. She served for 2 years as the Chairperson for the AGBU-YP Winter Gala, an annual fundraising event supporting a variety of AGBU Charities. During her time in San Francisco, Alison trained and participated in the AIDS Lifecycle, a 545-mile bike ride down the California Coast intended to raise funds to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS.
Alison holds B.A.s in Anthropology and Political Science from University of California, Irvine, and an M.A. in Anthropology from San Diego State University.
Alison and her family reside in South Boston and Eve eagerly attends Sunday School at Holy Trinity. In her spare time, Alison trains in Latin ballroom dancing and enjoys cooking and recreating the Armenian foods passed down from her mother, grandmother and aunties – yalanchi is a personal favorite!
